Contriving to franchise a ship, Altaïr also travels to Cyprus to pursue the apple, with Maria in tow. Although he fails in this respect, he conquers and captures Maria Thorpe, who ventured to avenge her previous master, Robert de Sablé, who perished at Altaïr's hands. The game starts quickly after the end of the first game, where Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad discovers a plan of the residual Templars to flee to Cyprus and penetrates one of their refuges in Acre to hinder them from doing.
